Savonia University of Applied Sciences Ltd is one of the largest and most versatile Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland with 7000 students and 500 employees. The main tasks of Savonia are: education, research, development and innovation and business activities. Education is available in six fields of study: Culture, Business, Natural Resources, Tourism and Hospitality, Engineering, Social Services and Health Care. The focus areas in the development are Engineering and Energy industries, Wellbeing technology, Water safety, Food industries and also Bio and circular economy.   Both the teaching staff experts and students collaborate in education and RDI activities together with the partners in working life. Savonia has a long experience in carrying out and coordinating various types of national and international development projects. Savonia is an active innovator in regional and national level. It operates in East Finland, in three cities in Kuopio, Varkaus and Iisalmi. International activities include student and teacher exchanges, research and development projects and international degree programs. University has approximately 180 partners in nearly 30 countries all over the world. The most important areas are EU, Central and Eastern European countries, Russia and Nordic countries. Still, the Savonia has also cooperation agreements with institutions in Africa, America, Asia and Australia.
Partner role:
Savonia establishes scenario work and multicriteria evaluation of different scenarios related to soil contamination pathways. We are expert partner on the use cases, developing scenarios and roadmaps, and evaluating them. Savonia has developed tools on impact assessment (INTO, PRIA) approaches as well as on interdependencies. Savonia develops business model for the digital solutions and prepares a toolbox on stakeholder engagement.
